Learning how to use different art media doesn’t have to be all serious. Join me for a morning of expression through play and exploration. These are the building blocks of intuitive art making. ALL LEVELS - No experience required.

Overview
This one-session workshop introduces students to expressive, process-focused art-making using approachable materials such as watercolor, charcoal, soft pastel, and oil pastel. Through playful techniques and meditative approaches, students will explore the early stages of an intuitive art practice, with an emphasis on expressive exploration over polished outcomes.

Class Flow

  • Introduction - Overview of materials and process-focused art-making

  • Warm-Ups - Simple mark-making and watercolor exercises to get you going.

  • Technique Demos - We will learn how to collaborate with each medium, give you a handle on how to use it and where you can take it within your own practice.

  • Creative Practice - Students create a small open-ended piece using materials of their choice

  • Closing: Optional reflection and group sharing
