Location

The Candy Factory
321 North Market Street
Lancaster, PA 17603

Description

This painting workshop is for adults looking for stress relief and a way to connect with themselves and others.

We pay no attention to skill, talent, or experience. The idea is to get lost in the process of painting without worrying about how it compares to anything else. We focus on pure artistic expression that emphasizes the creative journey so you can relax, unwind, and check in with yourself.

It's about exploring emotions, thoughts, and experiences through the act of painting, allowing for spontaneous and intuitive expression without concern for technique or outcome. This approach can be therapeutic and is often used to foster personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional healing.

What to Expect

Introduction & Check-in. The workshop begins with brief introductions. A check-in and intention setting helps to center ourselves and approach the workshop with an open mind.

Painting Session. The majority of the workshop time is for participants to engage in painting. Jo will circulate to offer support and guidance as needed or desired.

Sharing & Discussion. We’ll conclude with an opportunity for brief closing comments. We do not present our paintings to the group but instead, focus on our experiences and discoveries that came from the painting time.

Materials and Setup

Paper, paints, brushes, and water containers are provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials if they wish. We will be painting on paper at tables.

Who Should Attend

The workshop is suitable for adults of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to more experienced artists looking for a freeing, expressive experience.
