Pathways And Formations at Curio | Feb 2 - Mar 30
An exhibition of my artwork titled Pathways and Formations will be up at curio in February and March. Work from three separate series will be on view.
Walls And Formation Series
Watercolors and Mixed Media on Paper.
This series of work from 2023 is a deep exploration of material. Through a maturing relationship with the medium, strange landscapes and islands emerge within the dynamic limits of watercolor.
Neural pathways series
Mixed Media on Paper
Neural Pathways is a body of work created in 2021 that explored the intersection of psychology and spirituality as modalities for personal growth. Inspired by a self-help book from the 1990’s called “Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy,” each piece represents a possible life journey.
Running blind
Oil on Panel
Completed in 2006, this was the last major painting I completed before becoming a mother. It is part of a series called “Micro / Macro” that includes paintings where I used technique and material to explore nature’s infinite repetition.
S H O U T O U T S ! ! !
There are a ton of reasons why I think curio is one of the best spots in Lancaster, but top of the list is owners, Matt Chapman and Nicole Duquette. Their shop is carefully curated so I always feel like a kid in a very well-designed candy store when I visit. They’ve put the same care and intention into curating this exhibition. Plus they are just the sweetest.
Local artist and artisan, Jeremy Waak, has created gorgeous custom frames for this exhibition. It has been a collaboration all the way. I have so much gratitude for his talent.
